Mindset focus

Nutritionist | educator | Pilates instructor

Merran is a Melbourne-based Nutritionist, Pilates instructor and educator.

Her love for mindful living and movement (in particular, dancing)  started at an early age and led her to study Nutrition and Health Coaching at university. During her studies she also qualified as a Pilates and Barre instructor, which allowed her to translate her love for movement and dance into something she could share with others. Instructing classes sparked a joy for supporting others to stay fit and healthy.

Merran currently works part-time as a secondary school teacher - teaching Psychology, Food studies, Dance, Health and PE (to name a few!). Sharing her passions and supporting the next generation in their health and wellbeing is something close to her heart.

Masters of Human Nutrition, Deakin University

Masters of Teaching (Secondary), La Trobe University

Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition, Psychology), Deakin University

Health Coach (hormone health), Institute for Integrative Nutrition

Pilates and Barre instructor, Studio Pilates International.

Here are some fun facts about Merran:

  • As a baby, she lived in Singapore for almost 4 years.

  • Navigation is not her specialty...

  • Her favourite dish and the one She'd ask for on death row is seafood linguine.

  • Her initials spell M.A.P. - which she used as part of her first ever nutrition business' name, 'The Health MAP'.

  • She loves dance and has done some form of dancing since the age of 4. Merran still dances today (in classes, but also around the house).

  • If she didn't pursue health as a career, she would have wanted to work in fashion & design.. or be a prima ballerina.

  • She loves the taste of coffee but her body can't handle it without the shakes! Making her a tea and matcha lover instead.

  • She's a leftie.

  • She can't handle sitting still, so loves any activity which keeps her moving: dancing, walking, running, hikes, window shopping, swimming, yoga and Pilates (of course).

  • Self proclaimed book worm.
